Bond Girl Style - Shake Things up

// //
With the new James Bond movie officially out (starring the devastatingly yummy Daniel Craig, or as I like to call him: The Blonde Bond) I thought it would be nice to learn about Bond girl style, because after all not just any female can keep the roving eye of the world's most infamous spy focused on her all the way through an entire movie!

Bond girls have both brains and a body, so they are perfect Fashion IQ style stars. Some of the world's most beautiful women have played Bond girls: Kim Basinger, Jane Seymour, Ursula Andress, Famke Jensen, Denise Richards, Teri Hatcher, and of course the incomparable Halle Berry.

Bond girl style is very much like the Bond girls themselves, graceful, smart, super sexy and a little dangerous. Bond girls are always dressed in figure flattering yet elegant styles, and often appear dripping in diamonds. A Bond girl must be dressed for every possibility from attending high class soirees to mingle with the rich and ruthless to going undercover to catch the dark and dangerous.

In "Casino Royale," Eva Green (the latest Bond girl) wears a particularly nice black evening gown (with a gorgeous back), paired at one point with a beaded black lace bolero. The hair was...not great, but I loved the outfit! Here are some shoes that would be perfect for the "Casino Royale" look...

Eva Green's character "Vesper" also wore a halter style deep purple evening gown with silver beading along the edge of the bodice. In the movie Bond picked it out for her...hmmm a gorgeous bad guy, great body, and he has good taste...only in the movies!

Okay so the whole movie wasn't all hanging around a posh casino, sometimes the girl had to go to work! She did so in style with a black coat, an all black suit, and a cream color suit paired with a wide black belt featuring an extra large buckle. The look emphasized her enviably tiny waist and slim hips...okay I am officially swearing off chocolate! Tomorrow! Well maybe the day after...well...I'm officially seriously thinking about swearing off chocolate! Anyway...

The final two dresses "Vesper" wore were what I like to call the Monte Carlo casual look. This means you wear expensive designer duds and accessories to go grocery shopping (not that Bond girls go grocery shopping!). The first outfit was a green Audrey Hepburn style dress (with the neckline made to cover the collar bone) featuring a slim pencil skirt, and the second was a bright red knee length wrap dress which was both elegant and feminine.

Voila! Now you can get Bond girl style without having to know how to disarm a nuclear weapon, run in high heels, or have a silly name. The rest, ladies, is up to you.
